Tweet from Legere suggests Apple iPad will be sold by T-Mobile after unveiling
A tweet from T-Mobile CEO John Legere sent out on Wednesday, hints that the Apple iPad will be joining the T-Mobile lineup. With the message suggesting that the executive can't wait for October 22nd, we need to point out that this is the date when Apple is expected to unveil the new Apple iPad 5 and the Apple iPad mini 2.
Currently, T-Mobile is the only one of the four major U.S. carriers that does not offer an LTE-enbabled iPad. While a T-Mobile SIM card will work on an unlocked AT&T version of the slab, it does not carry the official support of the carrier. Should the new Apple iPad models join T-Mobile's roster, they both would be offered with T-Mobile SIM cards and connect to the operator's LTE pipeline.
The 9.7 inch Apple iPad 5 will be thinner, narrower and lighter than its predecessor, and will feature the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. It is expected to be powered by the new A7X processor and include stereo speakers ala the original Apple iPad mini. The sequel to the latter device will also include Touch ID, but more importantly, the Apple iPad mini 2 should feature a much improved Retina display.
