This may be the clearest Galaxy Note 7 pic yet, waterproof chassis hinted

You know it's getting pretty close to the Note 7 announcement when a bunch of leaks are starting to pour water in the proverbial rumor mill not by the day, but by the hour. Right after a few extra prototype shots were revealed today, another full frontal exposure is in store for the Note 7.

This is the clearest pic we've had of the handset so far, barring the supposedly official renders, and it also shows the handset fired up and running Samsung's new Note UX version of the TouchWiz Android overlay.

Again, we can see the two intriguing sensor/camera openings at the top left that are said to form an iris scanner as an extra biometric security layer. Moreover, this unit seems much more polished, and with the Samsung logo up top staying intact, when compared to the previous prototype leaks today, so the Note 7 you are seeing here is probably the closest to the production version piece we have seen yet.

In addition, a "waterproof" glass back for the Note 7 has been listed in the Zauba import database, hinting that the Note 7 should come with the same IP68 water resistance certification as the Galaxy S7/S7 edge. Not that this would come as much of a surprise, but still it's nice to have a tangential proof.

As for the screen - yep, it's curved on both sides, and this "edge" display model will seemingly be the only version available. Fret not, flat screen lovers, at least the narrower body will mean a better grip, whether you'll use the side screens for something or not. Here are the Note 7 proto photos that we've had so far, in chronological order.

Looks to be a great device- Yet I am still happy with my Galaxy Edge 6 and will probably upgrade to a Note 5 once the Note 7 is out ( purchased a home so I had to scale back on the tech spending).

S6 edge is comparably good to Note 5, I think it's worth more to save for something more substantial. (Congrats on the new home by the way!)

Looks like any other Samsung, not a knock on the look. Hope it's a monster device

When you drop one of these Edgy Phones, 94.67% chances are that the 'crash' will be a FATAL one (For the phone, of course... Unless you run it on Uranium or something)... And quantum moments later, your oh so sassy Flag Ship transforms into a messy Wrecked Ship... The phone is Dead, Gone, History, Kaput, Boom, KIA, Flat line, RIP... Needless to say, It turns into an "Ex-Phone"... And since it'll likely be made of glass, this Nosy Note won't be much unlike wielding a bloody Salmon or Bass... Unless of course you're a fisher, then no worries... And I'm sure the replacement of this high resolution AMOLED Display would make a hole in your... Ahem... Samsung-Pay and will left you all teary... Don't come crying to me when this happens, 'kay? G'Day!

There's some truth to that; many are complaining about the fragility of the screens, much more than in comparison to other (non-edged) phones. By the way, does anyone know the average cost of an s7 edge screen repair from a non-Samsung repair shop?

Don't know about a repair shop but the screen did cost me close to 300 dollars in an authorised service center.

I don't think I'd buy any edged screen phones. I don't see the point. Can't use tempered glass protection, and cases look odd

Dude you sound crazy! I've dropped my Note 5. Hasn't broke yet! They do make cases. I don't even have a real case on mine, just a thin plastic cover on the back and a 9H glass on the front. A drop can be fatal to ANY phone. The Galaxy is no more fragile than any alternative. Aluminum and glass is a cheap material. PERIOD! Any phone that uses them are subject to equal type of damage on the same level.

Yes agreed!! Its hard for an old man like u even keeping a hold on a mobile inside ur palm without dropping it. People whoever loved it and buy it as they love know to keep it safe...! Pls dont repeat the same old useless point again and again!

did you ever had an edge phone ..coz my s6 edge fell like 3-4 times and nothing happened... and also u said 94.67 which means it should shatter on first drop.

Ha! FM Radio... "You've got my money Samsung." HALT! You can get one for $10 on ebay... Or just grab an old beat-up Nokia that's been rotting and being chewed by mice up in your attic, it'll likely have an FM Radio... Now, grab That NOTE... NOW!!! I'm unbiased, see? G'Day!

I know I'm weird, but no FM is a dealbreaker for me. If I'm going to spend a lot of money on a phone then I want it to be complete. I'm not going to buy extra phones to use FM radio because Samsung decided to ground the antenna pin (which takes extra effort).
