The quad-core LG X3 scores crazy on the new Quadrant, coming with 2000mAh battery to feed a 4.7" HD display
It looks like the LG X3 with Tegra 3 will be one of the monster phones for this year, as insiders have leaked its eye-popping Quadrant 2.0 scores, as well as confirmed most of the specs rumored around the device, including the equally impressive 4.7" 1280x720 LCD screen.

It will feature a hearty 2000 mAh battery, which will be desperately needed if the battery life on phones like the LG Nitro HD with a 4.5" HD display is any indication.

The rest of the specs were reconfirmed to be 8MP camera with the modern instantaneous shutter, and 16GB of internal memory plus microSD slot for expansion.

Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich will be running the show, hopefully not overly skinned. Have a look at that amazing 4412 score on the new Quadrant, and welcome to the new quad-core smartphone reality. In comparison, the dual-core LG Optimus LTE in the office scored 2514 yesterday when Quadrant 2.0 got released.

cpu is a central processing unit which is used for the phone performance and browsing performance. While gpu is a graphics processing unit which is used in gaming and other graphics intensive programs.

My galaxy s ii with the exynos processor gets a higher score than the prime with the quad core. Can someone please explain the difference between the CPU AND GPU?

Will be fun to see how the ICS generation of devices perform. Be really interesting to also also see if UI compliment or hinder their respective handsets. Throw in the next Generation of processors, and you have a chance for LG to redefine itself real fast, and other manufacturers to do the same, for better or worse. Oh yes, it will be fun.......

Its the start of Android Version 3 (4.0 is really the 3rd iteration for the phones, as 3.0 is honeycomb for tablet only and is about to be erased). Its anyone's game again. New OS, quad cores, higher memory, new screens.

Not to gloat, but my Galaxy Note w/ stock firmware and 3rd party kernel @ stock frequencies posted a 4761 last night on the new quadrant. But the scores are lopsided I'm getting much higher I/O and much lower CPU scores. CPU: 5550 Mem: 4396 I/O: 11131 2D: 529 3d: 2200

Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich will be running the show, hopefully not overly skinned. What does it mean? there won't be optimus ui and will there be no ui's on ice cream sandwich cause that would mean the end of touchwiz and sense 4.0 on android. Can somebody tell me about what the author meant.

they meant they dont want it to cover up stock to much maybe some widgets and stuff but not to heavy like optimus/sense/touchwiz etc. i prefer stock though

the UI's are there. Both Sense and Touchwiz have been seen running on ICS. The hope is that they stop doing that... or at least make them more of a launcher and less of an integrated system hog like Sense is. The closer to stock it is, the easier to update. Stock ICS is very good. I dont feel the need to change it even after 2 months which is very unusual for me. lol

it means that the author doesn't want the default launcher (i.e. the LG ui) to be too deeply integrated, this is mainly because they think that ICS is already handsome and UI like TW, sense, the LG one may reduce the ICS experience rather than enhancing it.. from what i know, OEMs like to skin their phones quite heavily.. just look at HTC and Samsung.. extreme case: Meizu MX.. but they argue that skins are the ones differentiating the experience in their products.. (and it's quite true especially when you play along with several Honeycomb tablet, you'll feel at home with any tablet, but at the same time, you can forget which brand you are using at the moment) that can be a good thing and bad thing, depending how you see it.. hope it helps, just some input.. experts please correct me if i'm wrong..

i am guessing that galaxy s 3 will have 12mp,1.5gb of ram and a more powerful chipset and 32gb internal memory. If samsung can do it why not lg. I've always referred lg phones regardless of the specs but after becoming a geek i can't tolerate non high end phones.

well it is rumored to have 1GB of RAM but that doesn't mean that it will have, maybe there will be 2 GB, but it will most probably be 1 :) and the number of mpixels on cam is not as important as the quality of the sensor

Well, while you are waiting for the s3. I'll be more than happy o.have the most powerful phone on the market. The s3 isn't coming at mwc, the x3 is I expect the x3 to be available months before the s3. IMO log has better displays than Sammy anyway.

i am happy if manufacturers actually go for a quality sensor than more megapixels.. my D70 has only 6MP but blows the 8mp shooters out of the water.. and nikon has already put 36MP in an FX sensor, time for manufacturers now to go all out in quality of the sensors, one that can handle noise better and gather light better, for a better photograph.. look at n8.. if at least they can get into that kind of quality, then and only then i think manufacturers should go for the megapixel race again..

s**t man 8mp only 1gb ram and 16gb internal memory that's not enough i love lg but if they want to be the top dog than they have to release a super phone with the specs of galaxy s3. Cause i don't want lg to lose and i don't want optimus 2x vs galaxy s2 again.

the different colors are the different sections of the benchmark, Blue=CPU performance Red=Memory performance Green=I/O performance Red=2D performance Yellow=3D performance
