A couple of weeks ago, Sony took the veil off its latest mid-range offerings – the Xperia SP
and Xperia L
. The company also gave us a full set of press images to gaze at, and naturally, didn't forget to reveal both handsets' hardware specs in detail. What Sony did not elaborate on, however, were the smartphones' launch dates – all it stated was that the Sony Xperia L and Xperia SP were scheduled for a Q2 launch.
But given the clue that we have here, their launch dates might be nearer than we think. Retailer Carphone Warehouse
, which operates in the U.K., is expecting to have both the Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia L in stock later this month.
Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia L coming soon
For those who aren't familiar with the Sony Xperia L and Xperia SP, they both run Andorid 4.1 Jelly Bean and offer 8-megapixel Exmor RS cameras. With its 4.6-inch screen and powerful quad-core processor, the Xperia SP is definitely the more capable device among the two. The Xperia L, offers a smaller, yet decent 4.3-inch display and a dual-core Snapdragon SoC.
While the two smartphones should land in the U.K. by the end of April, their launch dates might vary across different markets. We'll let you know in case we learn more about the availability of the Sony Xperia L and Xperia SP.
