Samsung updates Galaxy S10 phones in the US with Note 10 camera features, DeX support
One month after adding a host of Galaxy Note 10 features to the international Galaxy S10 phones, Samsung announced the availability of the update in the United States. Starting this week, Samsung will roll out to Galaxy S10 users in the US a software update that brings many features only available on the Note 10 and Note 10+.

The highlights of the update are the AR Doodle, built-in video editor, Link to Windows integration and expanded Night Mode with a front-facing camera. The former lets Galaxy S10 users customize their videos with fun, augmented-reality drawings, and messages.

Also, the new Live Focus video allows users to apply bokeh effects (including blur, big circle, color point, and glitch) to videos recorded on the front or rear cameras. Furthermore, the update brings improved Super steady to stabilize footage, which can be used in Hyperlapse mode.

With the camera’s native video editor, Galaxy S10 users can turn captured moments into shared moments. The video editor offers simple tools for trimming clips, stitching them together, adjusting playback speed and much more. Also, an option to add subtitles and background music to video clips is available as well.

Some productivity-enhancing features from Note 10, such Samsung DeX for PC is coming to the Galaxy S10 series too. The app must be downloaded from Samsung's website and then launched on the PC or Mac by simply connecting Galaxy S10 via USB.

Thanks to Link to Windows support, Galaxy S10 users can wirelessly connect their phones to their Windows 10 PC and see notifications, send and receive messages and review recent photos.

Last but not least, the update brings some improvements to Samsung Pass and Messages apps. For example, the set-up process for Samsung Pass has been simplified with the addition of advanced biometric technologies. On the other hand, Messages now features new icons for adding photos and videos, which are positioned to the left of the text.
