Samsung is working on a new mysterious smartwatch called Galaxy Aero, SamMobile reports. The references to the new device were found in the Galaxy Wearable app's codebase.

Our colleagues at SamMobile have unearthed a line of code hidden inside the Galaxy Wearable app. The line reads "galaxy_rtos_watch" and the device is listed under the codename "Samsung Galaxy Aero." The image above is just a creative interpretation of the RTOS Watch Aero, the device will most likely look very different.
Samsung is gearing up to launch the next generation of the Galaxy Fit smart band, the Galaxy Fit 4, with upgraded wireless connectivity, and this could very well be the mysterious device mentioned in the codebase, judging by the operating system.

Even though the line of code is very short and doesn't reveal much about the mysterious Galaxy Aero, there's still some viable information there. The _rtos part of the code points toward the RTOS operating system.
The abbreviation actually stands for real time operating system and it's the exact OS used on budget devices such as the Galaxy Fit.

However, the line mentions "watch," and the Galaxy Fit is marketed as a "smart fitness band" on Samsung's official site.

Could this be a completely new device, slightly pricier than the upcoming Galaxy Fit 4? There's such possibility, as another leak suggests Samsung is about to launch a new style of clip-on earbuds, called Galaxy Buds Able.
This mysterious Galaxy Watch Aero could be the perfect new companion to the Buds Able, filling the gap between the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Watch FE.
