Samsung Mobile USA hires new VP of Marketing to enhance "how consumers engage with Samsung technology"

Samsung Telecommunications America today announced that it appointed a new vice president of Marketing: Vince Hudson. He will be in charge of product launches and marketing operations for Samsung Mobile USA, reportedly “focusing on enhancing how consumers engage with Samsung technology.”

Vince Hudson previously worked at Procter and Gamble as VP of the company’s Beauty Care Division. So he’s not exactly the person who you’d expect to lead Samsung Mobile’s marketing efforts, is he? But maybe Samsung’s onto something here. Its new products, including the Galaxy S5 smartphone, the Gear 2 smart watch and the Gear Fit smart band, can all be seen as fashion accessories, besides being the high-tech devices that they are. Plus, they also offer health and fitness features which should appeal to pretty much everyone.

Reportedly, Vince Hudson has won quite a few marketing awards, including Ad Age’s “Top 40 Marketers Under 40”, and Brandweek’s “Marketers of the Next Generation.”
