Samsung Mobile President confirms the name of their Android tablet to be the Galaxy Tab
Is it Tab or is it Tape? We first initially heard that the Samsung Galaxy Tab was going to be the manufacturer's first Android powered tablet and would compete against the iPad in their home turf first. However, it was quickly rumored to be named the Samsung Galaxy Tape instead, but now it looks like it reverted back to its original moniker. It's now being confirmed that Samsung will be sticking to the Samsung Galaxy Tab name for its upcoming high end tablet as JK Shin, President of Samsung Mobile Division, revealed the confirmation to Dow Jones. Not only do we now know its official name, Shin went further on to say that it would be released some time in Q3 – which is actually going to start two weeks from now. Marching forward with an assault of their own in the mobile phone market, their dive head first into the tablet game with the Galaxy Tab will easily give them some face time in this increasingly competitive market.
