Samsung Galaxy Tab Android powered tablet looks like a super sized Galaxy S
If the Apple iPad's impressive sales have been any kind of indication, there is no doubt anymore that consumers are willing to spend the cash for tablet-like gadgets. When it was first unveiled, many people were quick to say how the iPad simply is a larger sized iPhone, but now it looks like that mentality is starting to stick with another manufacturer. The Samsung Galaxy S may soon be loved by over 110 countries as we're on the verge of a simultaneous roll out, however, we're beginning to see how it plays closely with their tablet device. There was an image leaked of the Samsung Galaxy Tab which looks like a super-sized Samsung Galaxy S handset – but instead, it's being positioned to attack the growing tablet market that's gaining plenty of steam. From a quick glance, there is definitely some commonalities between the two devices as the Galaxy Tab looks to be packing a 7” TFT display as opposed to the Super AMOLED on the Galaxy S – we'd suspect it would keep cost down to a minimum. In addition, it'll also feature a 3.5mm headset, TouchWiz UI running on top of Android, and most likely retain all of the smartphone elements on the high-powered Galaxy S. However, it's going to be interesting to see if Samsung will slightly optimize the TouchWiz interface to take advantage of the gargantuan screen. Now there definitely is no arguing how prominent tablet devices are becoming.
