Samsung Galaxy Tab Android powered tablet looks like a super sized Galaxy S
If the Apple iPad's impressive sales have been any kind of indication, there is no doubt anymore that consumers are willing to spend the cash for tablet-like gadgets. When it was first unveiled, many people were quick to say how the iPad simply is a larger sized iPhone, but now it looks like that mentality is starting to stick with another manufacturer. The Samsung Galaxy S may soon be loved by over 110 countries as we're on the verge of a simultaneous roll out, however, we're beginning to see how it plays closely with their tablet device. There was an image leaked of the Samsung Galaxy Tab which looks like a super-sized Samsung Galaxy S handset – but instead, it's being positioned to attack the growing tablet market that's gaining plenty of steam. From a quick glance, there is definitely some commonalities between the two devices as the Galaxy Tab looks to be packing a 7” TFT display as opposed to the Super AMOLED on the Galaxy S – we'd suspect it would keep cost down to a minimum. In addition, it'll also feature a 3.5mm headset, TouchWiz UI running on top of Android, and most likely retain all of the smartphone elements on the high-powered Galaxy S. However, it's going to be interesting to see if Samsung will slightly optimize the TouchWiz interface to take advantage of the gargantuan screen. Now there definitely is no arguing how prominent tablet devices are becoming.

Yea, it seems like a copy. But hey, the iPad is selling so well right now, why not make a tablet as well? I'd do the same as Samsung and try to make some money. I just don't know what kind of applications are they gonna have on it...I don't find many apps for the Android Market already, but for a tablet, they should come out with something good hopefully...I have my doubts though. :\

Isn't HP and Palm getting together to make a Pad like thingie? I think I'd rather have one of those. Love my Android phone though...

Hahahaha! It looks like you can at least make phone calls on this thing. It depends on pricing, may make a really good netbook replacement, especially if they add USB ports to it and it has true hd video, that would be suh-weet.

why is a device a copycat when it uses a form factor that apple used before? you think apple was the first one with a touch screen candybar with a big screen and just a few buttons? all apple's tech was used before the iphone but just not as good / good looking. not hating on apple here just on people that compare every thing to a apple device.
