Vodafone Netherlands and Samsung have revealed the limited Red Bull Ring edition of the Galaxy S9 and S9+. It is named after the "Red Bull Ring" Formula One racing track in Austria and will be available in the Netherlands between April 16 and May 27.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ Red Bull Ring Edition is actually nothing special: it's just the glossy black variant of the device with an added twist – it comes with a Red Bull branded case. Putting the case on your Galaxy S9 / S9+ will change the UI appearance – you'll see wallpapers with some of the most popular F1 drivers and cars appear on your screen, alongside new animations, app icons, and color schemes. Removing the case would switch the theme back to default.

Rumor has it that Samsung intends to launch and sell NFC-connected theme-changing covers, and the Red Bull Ring edition case might be the perfect example of what these could do. You may even be able to make and customize your own smart cover via the Samsung Store, according to speculation.

The Red Bull Ring limited edition of the Galaxy S9 / S9+ is already available at the Vodafone Netherlands website. If you purchase the Galaxy S9 / S9+ limited edition alongside a subscription plan, you'll get two tickets for the upcoming Formula One race on the Red Bull Ring racing track in Austria.
