Samsung Galaxy S8 Pirates of the Caribbean Edition goes official, priced at $880

Samsung has just released a special edition version of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8. Rumors about such a device emerged last month, along with a couple of pictures showing the retail box and the phone.
Today, Chinese retailer JD.com started to sell the Samsung Galaxy S8 Pirates of the Caribbean Edition for around $880. Just one version of the smartphone is available for purchase now, which packs 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
Unlike some of the previous special editions launched by Samsung, the Pirates of the Caribbean model isn't customized on the outside at all and looks just like the regular version of the Galaxy S8.
However, the smartphone has been packed with a special Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales theme. Also, the retail box has been designed to look like a treasure box and features the Pirates of the Caribbean logo. Inside the box, there's a phone ring holder and a case both customized with the same logo.
As far as the specs go, the phone has the same technical specifications as the standard Samsung Galaxy S8. Unfortunately, the Pirates of the Caribbean version of the Galaxy S8 might remain exclusive to China, at least for a limited time.

Well at least its roughly the same cost as the retail version. Don't include a Gear VR though. That's kinda lame. It would be cool if it included the AKG OTE headphones and a 256GB microSD card for a price of $950. That woudl have been a good deal.

Oooohhh you know what's better? Including the newest GearVR in the box and have the phone pre installed with a PotC VR game and/or a special VR short footage from the movie. Wow what a shame that SS skipped this :

Now a Guardians of the Galaxy would have been better.

The movie was already released so most likely, this will not happen. If you follow galaxy's special edition, it's always a promotion for something. Ironman s6 (marvel) then batman s7 (dc) so I'm guessing spiderman homecoming for s8.

You cry over the iPhone 8 for another 5 months. While we enjoy all the other devices and choose the best one at that moment , and even after the iPhone 8 releases , you'll be the one going for value in the iPhone 6.. upgrading from your 5s finally. Good job Pooyath , good job.

It called having choices. There's been a themed galaxy since the S6 which was The Avengers, the S7 had a Batman and The Olympics theme and now the S8 has Pirates. You wouldn't know about choices because Tim Cuck tells what your allowed to have
