Samsung has just released a special edition version of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8. Rumors about such a device emerged last month, along with a couple of pictures showing the retail box and the phone.

Today, Chinese retailer JD.com started to sell the Samsung Galaxy S8 Pirates of the Caribbean Edition for around $880. Just one version of the smartphone is available for purchase now, which packs 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory.

Unlike some of the previous special editions launched by Samsung, the Pirates of the Caribbean model isn't customized on the outside at all and looks just like the regular version of the Galaxy S8.

However, the smartphone has been packed with a special Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales theme. Also, the retail box has been designed to look like a treasure box and features the Pirates of the Caribbean logo. Inside the box, there's a phone ring holder and a case both customized with the same logo.

As far as the specs go, the phone has the same technical specifications as the standard Samsung Galaxy S8. Unfortunately, the Pirates of the Caribbean version of the Galaxy S8 might remain exclusive to China, at least for a limited time.
