Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge receive update that adds features to 'Always On Display'
One of our loyal PhoneArena readers has just sent us some screenshots about an 8MB update he has received for his Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. The update, which is also being sent to the Samsung Galaxy S7, enhances the the Always On Display of both models. According to the changelist that he received, the update includes a newly designed calendar to replace the two previous ones that were available. In addition, the Always On Display will now show what music is being played on your phone's music apps.

The small update also makes changes to the clocks on the Always On Display, which will be more customizable. You can also add your signature to the screen in any color or font you choose. If you use an S-View cover or a Keyboard cover, the Always On Display will appear on both.

Worried about the Always On Display eating away at your battery life? With the update, battery consumption is now less than 1% of whole battery life each hour. Samsung did add however, that the battery consumption figures can vary depending on the content.

You can check out some screenshots about this update by clicking on the slideshow below.

Thanks for the tip!

It has been discontinued so why would they even bother updating it.

I should point out the fact that not giving the Note 7 updates is part of sam's way to get you to exchange it because it isn't safe to use so of course it won't be getting any updates, if it get's any kind of update it should be to brick the SOB so people would have no choice but to get rid of it.

I'm just guessing that was a joke about the Note 7.

Two guys ask the same questions and I don't think either was joking. If they were jokes then these guys aren't very good at being sarcastic lol.

The only thing u should wait with your nite 7 now is to explode in your dumba$$, if it happens to only u its not a problem to me but if others got hurt i ill be sorry fir them to sit with a moron like u, WAT SHOULD SAMSUNG DO TO MAKE U UNDERSTAND THAT THE PHONE IS DANGEROUS AND U SHOULD RETURN IT?

The only thing that's going to hit the Note 7 is sand when Samsung bury the Note 7 where the old E.T games were.

What about 3rd part apps notifications?

I should add that this one part that I criticized about Samsung's way of delivering updates, late and always not delivering the latest software features to old models. If it wasn't for the Note 7 getting discontinued and wanting people to get the S7 instead, they would've waited a lot longer to send such an update. You get 120 dollars budget phones with the theme engine, yet the Note 4, S5, and their high tablets are left without such an awesome feature.

Forget about your note 7 they want you to downgrade and finish their S7 inventory, Just go for a full refund and don't support this terrorist company. They even achieved what Fatty Kim of North Korea had dreamed of a sleeper IED in every South Korea and American homes

The jump in logic is not uncommon if you look at it from the right perspective. To dislike a corporation and call them a terrorist company is a no-brainer. I mean Yoda says it best... Fear leads to the dark side. Fear leads to anger... anger leads to fire... fire leads to s'mores... s'mores leads to burnt marshmallows... burnt marshmallows leads to hate... hate leads to suffering. See? Easy as 1, 2, 2.7, 3.1, 4√2, 5, 6. :)

Wow.... Why is Samsung a terrorist company and other manufacturers are not? I would love to hear this theory.

I hope you're not one of those who still keeps that phone and being in denial coz you may learn that theory in a hard way

I went to the s7 edge. But you are not answering the question about Samsung being a terrorist company.
