Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge receive update that adds features to 'Always On Display'
One of our loyal PhoneArena readers has just sent us some screenshots about an 8MB update he has received for his Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. The update, which is also being sent to the Samsung Galaxy S7, enhances the the Always On Display of both models. According to the changelist that he received, the update includes a newly designed calendar to replace the two previous ones that were available. In addition, the Always On Display will now show what music is being played on your phone's music apps.

The small update also makes changes to the clocks on the Always On Display, which will be more customizable. You can also add your signature to the screen in any color or font you choose. If you use an S-View cover or a Keyboard cover, the Always On Display will appear on both.

Worried about the Always On Display eating away at your battery life? With the update, battery consumption is now less than 1% of whole battery life each hour. Samsung did add however, that the battery consumption figures can vary depending on the content.

You can check out some screenshots about this update by clicking on the slideshow below.

Thanks for the tip!

Got a note 7 and will keep it. If it burns than ill play the lotto cuz not even 1/2 percent of the note 7 are burning. I have a better chance if the playing the lotto than my note 7 catching fire. Had it for 2 months already. It doesnt even get hot when i charge it

If Note 7 did not die, Samsung would never update the S7 and S7 Edge

Well, with the Note7 of the market, the S7 Edge becomes the best large phone. The regular S7 was already the best regular sized phone.

I wished I had a Note 7. I would keep it until it burns. IF it will. Probably wont.

The chances are it won't. They sold about 2.5 million units and how many exploded? Less than 100? It seems like every single case where it did explode was reported. So let's say it's 100/2.5 million. The chances of yours exploding is 0.004%. I personally still wouldn't chance it, but if you did and nothing happens I wouldn't be surprised.

I doubt Samsung would give Note 7 software features to the Note 5. They'll stop supporting the Note 5 after Nougat.

I have no qualms with improving features to close the gap.

What about the Note 5? Which replaced my Note 7. Time for Samsung to reward loyal Note users.

Forget about your note 7 they want you to downgrade and finish their S7 inventory, Just go for a full refund and don't support this terrorist company. They even achieved what Fatty Kim of North Korea had dreamed of a sleeper IED in every South Korea and American homes

The jump in logic is not uncommon if you look at it from the right perspective. To dislike a corporation and call them a terrorist company is a no-brainer. I mean Yoda says it best... Fear leads to the dark side. Fear leads to anger... anger leads to fire... fire leads to s'mores... s'mores leads to burnt marshmallows... burnt marshmallows leads to hate... hate leads to suffering. See? Easy as 1, 2, 2.7, 3.1, 4√2, 5, 6. :)

Wow.... Why is Samsung a terrorist company and other manufacturers are not? I would love to hear this theory.
