One of Samsung's best mid-range phones could be headed to Verizon
The Galaxy A70 has been around since late April and has already been succeed by the revised Galaxy A70s in some markets, but new findings by SamMobile suggest Samsung is planning to bring the original model to the US market in the near future.

The Federal Communications Commission, more commonly known as the FCC, certified a new variant of the Galaxy A70 earlier this month which bears the model number SM-A705U. SamMobile claims the device is being developed with Verizon compatibility in mind but suspects other carriers will eventually offer the phone as well.

While it’s disappointing Samsung isn’t looking to release the newer Galaxy A70s, the original Galaxy A70 is still a pretty decent phone. To refresh your memory a little, it sports a huge 6.7-inch AMOLED display paired with a notch and a 32-megapixel selfie sensor. The rear features a triple-camera setup made up of a 32-megapixel main shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor for better bokeh photos.

Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage. Other features include a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging and Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.

A release date is yet to be confirmed but Samsung is likely targeting a release in mid-November to take full advantage of the upcoming holiday season. Once launched, the smartphone will likely retail at $399 and join the mid-range Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A6 in addition to the budget Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A10e.
