Own a Galaxy Note 4? Here's how to get the intriguing Montblanc digital content for free

Along with the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung announced an exclusive partnership with Montblanc, a manufacturer that is popular for its luxurious writing instruments, watches, and jewellery. The results of this collaboration are two custom S Pen-like styluses for the phablet (Pix and e-StarWalker) and a duo of luxurious leather cases (the Extreme and Soft Grain) for the beastly phablet.

Regardless of which ones of these you get, you will be also treated to some downloadable digital content, developed by Montblanc itself, which consists of two nice wallpapers, additional virtual S Pen nibs for S Note, and a 3D ink effect for the lock screen.

While not everyone will be able to lay their hands on one of the Montblanc accessories listed above, there are certain workarounds that enable you to download the available Montblanc content for free, regardless if you have laid your hands on the custom pens or the leather cases. We'll show you how to do this.

Update: It appears that many users of the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 have no access to the downloadable Montblanc content, which makes us think that Big Red has decided to remove these from its version of the phablet.

Hmmmm. I don't have the Montblanc option under popuireceiver, and I can't locate the current in the Samsung store. I don't care about the wallpapers, but I wouldn't mind getting the new s-pen tips.

Many Verizon users over at XDA report that they have been stripped off of these, so... sorry. On the bright side, the wallpapers are easily obtainable!

However the ink effect on the lock screen did not activate with the wall paper - it still does the bubbles. Can't find how to change the lock screen animation. I don't see it in the lock screen settings and the options I'm finding for other galaxy phones don't seem to work on the note 4.

Really? Well, that's how we did it: Settings > Lock Screen > Unlock effect (at the bottom) > Ink in water. This doesn't work for you?

No I don't have the "Unlock effect" in the list, only "Screen lock" (Secured with fingerprints), Show information, Camera shortcut, Action memo on lock screen, and Secured lock time. But I did get the Montblanc pens, templates and wallpaper.

First of all thanks for answering my post. Secondly I found the solution. It turns out that the "Screen effects" is removed from the options of "Settings> Lock screen" if you have certain options other than "Swipe" selected under "Screen lock". Also thanks to forums at androidcentral for pointing me in the right direction on this. I had an inkling (no pun intended) this might be the solution but didn't want to mess up the stored fingerprints. No worries, the function can be turned off and on without losing them.

Here's another way you might be able to do it: Open S Note. Click on the button on the top left (the 3 lines). A little menu should slide into the screen. Click on "more features" on the bottom. There should be 4 options now. The last one is "Montblanc". Click on that. Then Click "Go to download screen". And then install it. Alternatively, if you've installed it using the method in this article and want to get rid of it, you can do it this way. Not sure if this "Montblanc" option appears only after you've once downloaded it using the method in this article because I only discovered it after that. But its worth a shot for someone who is having trouble doing it this way.

Got this up and running yesterday. Thanks a lot for the tip. The Samsung galaxy note 4 continues to impress. Best choice smart phone for 2014 without a doubt.

Found apk on XDA website and it worked for me, but it won't let me leave a link here because I haven't been registered for 7 days. I searched for Samsung Montblanc apk and it was the second option on Google search results page 3 of the XDA website. Enjoy!
