Let's face it - front-firing stereo speakers aren't among the most common smartphone features nowadays. However, we might be heading towards a future where considerably more phone manufacturers opt to include such a setup in their offerings. HTC showed other companies how it's done with the One (M7) last year, and as we can see this year, it looks like it's managed to get at least one company inspired - Sony. With its Xperia Z2, Sony has also chosen to throw a pair of front-facing speakers into the package, in order to make those media experiences a little bit more immersive.

With that, however, comes the inevitable comparison we have to make between the stereo speakers found on the HTC One (M8) and the Sony Xperia Z2. Which phone has the louder volume? Which phone sounds cleaner? These are the questions we'll aim to answer in the video we've produced for the purpose. Of course, we should keep in mind that overall sound quality is a rather subjective area, as listeners typically enjoy varying types of sound. However, when it comes to the harsh realities of phone speakers, we think we'll be able to reach a consensus in an easy manner. In short, as you'll see in the video, the One (M8) proves to have the louder and deeper-sounding speakers of the two, although the Xperia Z2 isn't so far behind, which is an impressive feat, considering the fact that it's also water-resistant. Watch our video to hear them for yourselves!
