Nokia phone stops a bullet, saves a man's life

You know the memes and back in the days you just seemed to almost expect it from Nokia phones: the Nokia 3310 was built like a tank, after all, and it would not only stop a bullet, but survive all sorts of torture tests.

These days, Nokia-branded phones are quite rare. That, however, does not mean that they have lost their miraculous abilities.

A Nokia 301 just saved someone's life by stopping a bullet and preventing it from hitting its target. The man is said to be someone in Afghanistan and the event is reported to have happened just last week. With all the exploding ultra-expensive flagships around that tend to have their displays shattered in pieces with even milder falls, it's reassuring to know that a cheap phone from the past can be that tough.

Magic?!? With Android?!? Are you kidding me? Android is slow, because everything is running on VM. iOS is based on BSD and that's why is so optimized and run smooth. I'm not Apple fan or Android hater. Just speaking the truth - The core of Android is wrong and will always laggs after few weeks of use.

doesn't change the fact that around 90% of the world use it.

Actually, they misjudged how lacking Symbian was. I still use my 301 for outdoor work that I don't want to subject a smartphone to. Great little device!

It was a smartphone that saved him and this is PA, that means any phone related new is relevant, they have posted many articles about phones saving lives so it's nothing new.

iPhone always exists but it is very sad to see that Nokia is useful only to save life!!!!

It's sad to see that a man's life was saved by his Nokia phone? His life was saved, there's nothing sad about that, even with it being his phone that helped do it. What's sad is you questioning why it's on this website when there have been articles about iPhones saving people's lives on this website, but you never questioned them this way.

Such a minor fault can cause such a mess, hopefully the note 7 incident will be a lesson to other oem's. LG must be retarded for not using this opportunity to not begin selling the LG V20.

They just don't make em like this anymore. Just ordered a Lumia 1020 to supplement my LG V10 soon to be V20 if the T-Mobile price is reasonable. Great backup phone.

Nokia phones have the best build quality ever. Here's to hoping that the new Nokia Android phones have similar build quality.
