Nokia entering the ultra-cheap market - Nokia 1600 and Nokia 1110 announced
Nokia today announced two new models – Nokia 1600 and Nokia 1110. They are the Nokia's effort to dominate not only the high-class/business models but the also the ultra-entry level one. Both are dual-band GSM 850/1900 and have EGSM 900/1800 versions. They both are compact, light, and easy to use candybar phones.

Nokia 1100 is compact phone with nice design. It has both speaking alarm and clock and easy to navigate menus. The ringtones are 20-voice polyphonic ringtones. The display is monochrome with Amber backlight and the built-in memory is up to 4MB. The estimated retail price is expected to be arround 65 euros ($78) sim-free.

Nokia 1600 is small and light compact phone with stylish design and 65k display. Again the ringtones are 20-voice polyphonic ones and the phone feature up to 4MB memory and speaking alarm and clock. The estimated retail price is expected to be arround 85 euros ($100) sim-free.
