Nokia 5.1 Plus certification listing reveals internal spec details and more
Last week, a new render revealed HMD Global was working on a slightly bigger and presumably better variant of the Nokia 5.1, dubbed the Nokia 5.1 Plus. But today, a new listing on TENAA reveals the exact specifications of the smartphone and also confirms certain external details.

Starting off with the processor, an unspecified octa-core chip clocked at 2.0GHz is present. This matches up with the details of the MediaTek Helio P18 that is included inside the regular Nokia 5.1, implying the Plus offering will also ship with the chip inside. In either case, the processor will then be coupled with either 3GB, 4GB, or 6GB of RAM. Additionally, the choice of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage will be offered, although this will further be expandable via a microSD card of up to 128GB. In regards to other details, stock Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed, while keeping the lights on will be a 3,000mAh battery.

Taking a look at some of the more external characteristics, the LCD display is now confirmed to sit at 5.86-inches in size and should boast a tall 19:9 aspect ratio. In a disappointing move for some, however, it was previously confirmed that HMD Global has decided to include a rather large notch up top that is home to a front-facing 8-megapixel camera. This is coupled with a main 13-megapixel sensor on the rear that will be featured alongside a secondary lens of an unknown megapixel count. Regardless of this, the camera setup will be capable of shooting 1080p video. Also, sitting below the rear camera module will be a circular fingerprint scanner.

Taking into account the high number of recent HMD Global smartphone launches, it’s predicted that the Nokia 5.1 Plus won’t make any official appearances until the end of August at the earliest, with the most probable scenario leading to a reveal at IFA 2018, with the device then going on sale in Black, Blue, and White.

UPDATE: The TENAA listing has now also been updated to include live images of the smartphone which confirm the previously-leaked renders.
