No, Misfit Vapor smartwatch will not come with built-in GPS

Remember the smartwatch Misfit announced back in January at CES 2017 and detailed two months later? Well, it looks like some of the information about the Vapor that Misfit revealed back in March is inaccurate.

Misfit Vapor is supposed to be another Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch that many fans of the brand have been expecting anxiously. Unfortunately, one of the features that Misfit confirmed months ago will not be making into the final version of the smartwatch.

Although it initially said the Vapor will include a built-in GPS, Misfit now says its upcoming smartwatch will come with “connected GPS,” which means it will require users to have their smartphones with them if they want to track distance, steps and so on.

Add to that the lack of NFC (Near Field Communications) and the Misfit Vapor might not be as appealing as we've originally thought it would be. Hopefully, the company will at least keep its promise and offer the smartwatch for $199.
