New app allows certain Android phones to copy the Pixel's fingerprint gestures
A new app called Fingerprint Gestures is now available from the Google Play Store. With the app, the fingerprint gestures used on the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL will work on other Android models. The app supports any Android handset running 6.0 Marshmallow, or higher. Of course, the phone needs to have a fingerprint scanner for the app to work.
With the app, users will be able swipe down on the fingerprint scanner in order to have the notification shade drop down. A single tap on the fingerprint scanner opens up any app chosen by the user. A double tap on the scanner puts the phone to sleep. Some other actions require the user's phone to have root access, although the basic gestures do not require it.
The app is free to download and install. So if you're tired of hearing from your friends about how their Pixel or Pixel XL can respond to certain gestures made on their model's fingerprint scanner, this app allows you to tell them that your phone can do the very same thing. To grab the Fingerprint Gestures app from the Google Play Store, simply click on the sourcelink.
