New Google Pixel XL photo leaks out

New Google Pixel XL photo leaks out
One day after we saw a photo presenting the front side of the unannounced Google Pixel phone, we can now take a look at a similar image that shows the Google Pixel XL

Just like the Pixel photo, the one depicting the Pixel XL comes from Evan Blass, aka @evleaks (who is famous for revealing an impressive number of devices ahead of their official introduction).

The new Google Pixel XL image pretty much confirms what was previously reported: the Pixel and Pixel XL have the same design, but different sizes. The Pixel is expected to sport a 5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD), while the XL model should have a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD).

The Pixel and Pixel XL will likely run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Of course, Android 7.1 hasn't been announced yet, but we expect Google to unveil it next week, on October 4, alongside the Pixel and Pixel XL. It looks like Android 7.1 Nougat will introduce various visual changes compared to 7.0 Nougat, including round icons, redesigned navigation keys, and a Google widget on the left.

We're expecting both the Pixel and Pixel XL to be available shortly after their announcement. Word on the street Web is that the new handsets will be rather pricey, starting at $649 unlocked. Until we receive more relevant information about Google's upcoming smartphones, you should check out our Google Pixel and Pixel XL rumor review (including many leaked photos).

Is it me....or do the bezels seem to not be as bad on this one compared to the 5 inch Pixel phone?

Noticed that as well. It's probably the size difference playing tricks on our eyes. I don't care either way, bezels or no, I like it......

I like it also. Can't wait until next week for the full details. This just may be my next phone.

Evan blass, did you just stretch the jpg?

It's because the bezels make space for the same components, so most probably they have the exact same dimensions in both models. So obviously the model with the larger display has a better bezel screen ratio as the screen is larger and the bezels are the same. It's very basic mathematics.

But people just like whining for the sake of it. I still wish those bezels could have been a few millimeters smaller!

Yep, there's definitely room for improvement BTW here's some screen to bezel ratios 73.1% - OP3 72.3% - Galaxy S7 71.0% - HTC 10 70.9% - Sony Xperia XZ 70.7% - Google Pixel (based on this render) 70.7% - Nexus 5 70.1% - LG G5 69.8% - Nexus 5X / HTC One A9 65.6% - iPhone 7 Sourcehttps://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/54p8gu/i_did_the_math_on_the_bezels_of_the_google_pixel/

They couldn't possibly have the same dimensions for a 5" and 5.5" screen. That would be like the S7 and S7 Edge being the same size. But to your point, the larger device can fit a bigger screen, just like with the Nexus 5X and 6P.

I like it more and more too. Especially the XL. I do wonder what the pricing will be though. But this might just replace my S7E.

It is definitely trickery for the eyes. One phone is larger than the other, but the pics don't reflect that as they didn't scale it accordingly. I'm assuming the depth of the bezels are identical on both phones if put side by side and to scale.

I don't think the bezels on either phone is going to be as bad as the bezels on the 5X and 6P.

The bezels are no where near as huge as the 6P is and this one looks high quality, unlike the previous.

When a device has no shortcomings, people pick on bezels. It's a given fact.

i will buy a phone with on screen buttons when someone make one with the same size bezels on all sides and under 10mm thick doesn't have to be like a razor blade. capacitive FTW!

Capacitive buttons take the space of the lower bezel, so your finger has to stretch uncomfortably low and loose the grip of the phone. A bit bezel at the bottom and a slightly elevated navigation bar is far more ergonomic. And the 10mm of added bezel don't harm anybody's pocket. This worshipping of the minimising of bezels is a bit superficial as thinking.

I've had capacitive...gotta love it when they foul up on you and make the phone barely usable lol. I'll take onscreen buttons anyday over capacitive...although I do wish they'd make them more customizable.

A rounded-off rectangle! Clever.

Loving the look of the XL and suppose the stretched screen means slightly less bezels top and bottom. Definitely ordering mine as soon as it's released. Will keep my Nexus 6P until then....nice....!

It looks like a cheap phone, if it really comes out looking like that it will be like an abortion gone bad.
