Liveblog: Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge announcement

Say whatever you want, but Samsung has been having quite a lot of trouble over the past year or so, and its market downfall most likely began shortly after Galaxy S5's introduction. Simply put, the flagship was not as exquisite as the company's fans probably expected it to be.

Samsung is certainly aware of that and its answer to this criticism will break cover anytime now - the next flagship, the Galaxy S6, will carry the Samsung's banner for the rest of 2015 (and the first few months of 2016, probably), with the hope of turning the tides over and scoring a much-needed re-establishment on the smartphone market.

What's more, we're expecting not one but two devices - the Galaxy S6 Edge will most probably break cover, too, hoping to make us fall in love with its sloping display. Naturally, we're at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event at MWC and will be live-blogging the announcement.

Excited? Ok, here we go!

The S6 already leaked. I want to see how disappointed your face looks when you find out nothing on the phone is plastic besides the antenna bands.

one of the most commonly used comments after the announced of S6 will be....... "skiped s6 Waiting for note 5" ;)

Pricing and battery will be the main factors that decide which is better between the edge and S6 for me.

No removable battery, so micro SD slot, not water resistant, smaller battery, iPhone 6 design.. Samsung when will you learn? When people asked for a good design they didn't expect to loose main selling features. Shamesung

I'm kind of disappointed too, but I'm starting to get used to on board storage. And like maherk said on the other article - iPhone design argument can be thrown away because the design closely resembles their Ativ S phone from the past.

Not really.. The S6 speaker grill closely resembles the iPhone 6, same with the charging port and coincidentally the headphone jack is now on the bottom of the phone. You can claim it's not, but that would be pure ignorance.

His comment is still valid. The body is designed the same way the Ativ S was. But now you mentioned the headphone jack, which does hold true. 50/50. Both you and him are correct so here's a +1.

The S6 edge has nothing that resembles the iphone 6.

Based on how many iPhones Apple sold that do not have removable batteries, sd slots or water resistance Samsung at this point has nothing to loose. If those where the only things people cared about the S5 would have outsold the S4 and S3. I almost got a Nexus 6 but went for the Note 4 not because of the SD card slot or removable batteries. But because I wanted to expierence Gear VR. Now Sasmung has got my attention with the S6 Edge. If that is Gear VR compatible I may have to check it out. But if not I'll wait for the Note 5. Or keep the Note 4 on deck at home and use the S6 Edge as a daily driver.

You won't. It doesn't have a Micro SD card slot. Enjoy whatever phone you decide to buy.

Not on this article. Wait until it's revealed. You'll see Kumar123 there saying the dumbest things and calling people paid trolls if they disagree with them.
