Leaked photos allegedly show the upcoming Samsung Z2 Tizen smartphone
Back in March, word got out that Samsung is planning to release a successor to its original Tizen-based smartphone, the Samsung Z1. Expected to be called the Samsung Z2, the updated Tizen smartphone is said to be launched at some point during the first half of 2015, meaning that we could be only a few weeks away from its official unveiling. A set of images leaked online today, allegedly showing the design of the upcoming Tizen-based smartphone from Samsung. However, given that we cannot verify the validity of this leak, make sure to digest it with a hefty dose of salt.

The leaked images show a smartphone that's not very much unlike the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini in terms of design. From the physical home button located under the display to what seems to be a plastic frame with a metallic texture, and even on the rounded corners of the smartphone, the handset pictured in this recent leak looks more like the Galaxy S3 mini than the rectangular-shaped Samsung Z1. The pics show the smartphone running what appears to be the South Korean version of the Tizen Store.

According to the previous rumor, the Samsung Z2 will come with entry-level specs such as a 32-bit quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM, a TFT-LCD display running at 540 by 960 pixels, a 2000mAh battery, and a new version of the Tizen user interface (allegedly inspired by the Samsung SUHD TV UI). At the moment, there are no details regarding the chipset model and the screen size of the display.
