Leak-based renders of the iPhone 5C and its packaging give us a peek ahead of launch
Well, folks, like it or not, if the leaks we've seen of the alleged iPhone 5C aka Lite turn out to be true, Apple's thunder will be almost completely stolen. We've seen pretty much all there is to see, from pretty much all the relevant angles.
Jumping on the bandwagon, designer Martin Hajek has created some pretty convincing renders of the iPhone 5C and the box that we're expecting it to come in. Even though we've seen similar renders in the not so distant past, this one had us fooled for a minute, because the box really added to the feel of an actual, real product.
So far, word on the street is that Apple will introduce the iPhone 5C along with the iPhone 5S on September 18 and start shipping the new goodies from September 27 onward. Numerous leaks and reports seem to confirm the fact that while the low-cost iPhone will resemble the iPhone 5, it will come sporting a whole lot of plastic to lower production costs. We expect Apple's iPhone 5C to hail the beginning of the assault on developing countries and compete in the increasingly lucrative emerging markets, like China, where some rivals have already established a foothold.
