Leaked photos show assembled Apple iPhone Lite

Leaked photos show assembled Apple iPhone Lite
We've seen pictures of what has been called the shell belonging to the low-cost Apple iPhone. The device, dubbed the Apple iPhone Lite, is expected to be shipped to emerging markets to compete with red-hot low priced phones like the Nokia Lumia 520. Now, we have a series of pictures originating from case manufacturer TACTUS that allegedly reveals an assembled model of the iPhone Lite.

Comparing the iPhone Lite to the Apple iPhone 5, we can see that Apple will keep a 4 inch screen on the cheaper version of the phone. We've seen different colored shells which means that buyers of the handset will have different options to choose from. According to the source behind the pictures, the volume and mute buttons on each unit will match the color of the shell. At 9mm thick, the iPhone Lite is 1.5mm thicker than the Apple iPhone 5, and is 120mm wide.

Check out the fully assembled Apple iPhone Lite by viewing the slideshow below.

Thanks, Anonymous Tipster!

Personally i think its a Wonderful Idea, Imagine the College Student low on cash but wanting an iPhone. Bash all you want Samsung Lovers, Part of you must be Very Curious to be looking at the iPhone5 Lite or whatever they are going to call it. Other wise, you wouldn't be here and we wouldn't have the entertainment value of you making fools of your selves.

I like the design and plastic doesn't bother me it's more durable then glass and most smartphones are already made out of plastic nobody seems to care that the top of the line phones from other manufactures are made with plastic and they still selling them for $600 or more.

Retro iPhone? Apple making what the OG and 3GS should have been? It actually doesn't look as bad as I was expecting, but the key factor will be pricing. I'll say it here and now, Apple will overprice it, thereby defeating the purpose. People will buy it regardless due to it being "new" but their image will take a hit from this. After looking at this, it's hard to equate Apple as only focusing on quality, this looks like nothing more than a market share/money grab.

The Apple logo is sitting lower on the back than any previous iPhone. Not that this is proof of fraud or anything, but it should be taken into consideration

Quality looks pretty bad compared to the other leaked ones. My gut tells me this is probably a "KIRF" some Chinese phone maker came up with.

Difference between Samsung and Apple is that Apple is marketing this as a budget iphone so obviously it'll be made out of plastic while Samsung continues to use plastic for their flagship devices and aren't being marketed as budget phones.

Marketing it as budget but charging as a mid ranger may not be the smartest thing of the world. And Apple is going to lose a lot of brand recognition on the way with those iToys.

Will people wait in line for days to buy a plastic phone? I'm guessing yes for the first iteration, then when they realize there's really nothing spectacular about it, fascinations will die out and all will return to normal.

Because polycarbonate not only keeps the weight down, it also doesn't scratch/bend aluminum and doesn't interfere with radio waves like aluminum. In every way it is a better product than aluminum for phone construction. Samsung markets the Galaxy S4 as a top of the line device based on what it does. And compared to the iPhone 5, it is top of the line.

What will they say next year when the s5 is sporting a full metal body?

I really really hope it doesn't. Metal in a phone is just a terrible idea. Poly-carbonate uni-body is where it's at. Now I just need to find a phone I like that has one :/
