I’m shocked that even the Galaxy Z Fold 8 can’t keep up with the wide-folding Motorola

Demand for a potential wide-folding Motorola phone in development is surprisingly high.

A wide-folding Motorola might be in more demand than any of us have realized, at least if what you say is to be taken at face value. Even the excellent Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 fell behind in interest for wide-folding smartphones in a recent poll of ours, which might mean that such a Motorola phone would be the best thing that the company could do right now.

The Motorola “razr flex”

According to reports, Motorola is working on a wide-folding phone known internally as the “razr flex”. While it apparently doesn’t boast the strongest hardware, mock renders of the phone got many of you very excited.

In a poll, we asked you which wide-fold phone you would buy out of a list that includes the upcoming Motorola phone, and over 44 percent of you said that you would get the “razr flex”.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the iPhone Duo follow

After the shocking number one choice, at least in my eyes, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 came second with over 28 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, a little over 14 percent of respondents said that they would get an iPhone Duo.

In last place, with exactly the same number of votes as of writing this — 6.74 percent — were the Xiaomi 18 Fold and the Huawei Pura X Max, both of which mimic the design of the iPhone Duo. In fact, the Xiaomi 18 Fold has the exact same dimensions as Apple’s foldable, though it did manage to fit in a telephoto lens as well as a larger battery.

Honestly, I’m a bit surprised

Personally, I think that the lavender Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the best thing to have happened since sliced bread. This level of support for a potential wide-folding Motorola is surprising to me.

But most importantly, I’m just glad that foldables are gaining so much popularity all of a sudden after the launch of the iPhone Duo. And considering how well the Fold 8 is selling, I’m hopeful that Samsung will add a telephoto camera and other missing features, like Flex Mode, to the Galaxy Z Fold 9 next year.
