LG D725 (a possible G3 mini variant) confirmed by LG

Earlier today, we told you that the unannounced LG G3 might get a mini version, naturally called LG G3 mini. It is believed that this G3 mini goes by the model number LG D725. Well, we are now certain that a D725 does exist, as we discovered that its UA profile is already available to see at LG’s official website.

The UA profile confirms that the LG D725 sports a 720 x 1280 pixels display, while also revealing that the smartphone has LTE and 3G connectivity. Other features (which are yet to be confirmed) seemingly include an 8MP rear camera, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

We’re all expecting the LG G3 to offer a 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display, but we don’t know how big (or small) the screen of the alleged G3 mini will be. Moreover, while the large G3 could be officially announced in June, there is no word on when the G3 mini is supposed to be introduced. It will probably happen a bit later anyway, especially since the G2 mini is still brand new, and it’s being released around the world starting this month.

It’s said that the LG G3 mini might be launched in the US by AT&T at some point. Whatever happens, we’ll let you know when we find out more about this.

Would be nice if it came with the same specs, or at least very similar specs. Just because for me, a 4.7-5.2in screen is just right.

A G3 mini in 4.5 - 4.7" trim with almost non-existent bezels but the same internals as the G3 would make for a great phone, or in my case a backup phone.

If G3 is 5.5 inch, G3 mini probably is 5 inch.

I really can't wait to see what LG has in store for us with the G3. The G2 was extremely impressive both design and performance. I still am very impressed by how small the bezels are and how comfortable it is to hold despite having a huge 5.2 inch display.

I think it is preemptive at best to assume that this phone is going to be the "lg g3 mini"... I am as anxious as ever for the LG G3 as I have the G2 and work for a cell phone carrier, and in my opinion the G2 is the best phone out there right now. I have seen 5 S5's already come back with problems and I have only seen 2 HTC m8's go out the door. The G2 is just solid. But to assume that these phones are the mini of the g3 way before the g3 is even announced is pretty assumptive.
