Keyboard case and docking station for BlackBerry PlayBook pictured in backroom at DevCon Europe 2012
During DevCon Europe 2012, BlackBerry Czech (as opposed to a BlackBerry Check, which is how RIM employees get paid), got some photographs apparently taken in a back room during the conference. Marked "Top Secret" was some unreleased accessories for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. First, there was a QWERTY keyboard case for the tablet that includes a touch pad. BlackBerry Czech says it was able to play with the QWERTY which they noted looked and worked great. They also liked the touch pad which supports multi-touch gestures. The one drawback was the weight of the case which includes the battery used to keep the Bluetooth keyboard battery working for 30 days.

The BlackBerry PlayBook docking station connects via HDMI and also has a LAN port that allows you to hook up an ethernet connection for those times when Wi-Fi is unavailable. What's up, dock? How about a wireless receiver and a speakerphone that lets you make VoIP calls on your PlayBook. There is no mention of a launch date for the pair of accessories and no pricing discussed.

Where did we hear that the mythical 10 inch BlackBerry PlayBook was at DevCon Europe? From BlackBerry Czech, mate. The crew on the site said it was about 2 meters away from a BlackBerry PlayBook with that 10 inch display, but was unable to take a picture. Last May, there was talk about such a device being launched at the end of last year, which of course never happened, possibly due to weak sales of the 7 inch model. Hopefully, we will see that new BlackBerry tablet on display in Barcelona at the end of the month during MWC 2012. Don't forget that we will be in Barcelona for MWC 2012, providing you with the latest news and information that you want to know about. Make phoneArena your first read for all things MWC.
