Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X expected to receive Android 8.0 Oreo by the end of 2017

Honor 8 Pro is one of the most recent high-end smartphones launched by the Chinese company, so it's no surprise it will be updated to a new version of Android. However, it's great that Honor is thinking to update mid-range smartphones launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board to the latest Oreo operating system.

Honor 6X and Honor 8 Pro will receive the highly-anticipated Android 8.0 Oreo update by the end of the year. The former might get the update in early 2018, but that shouldn't bother anyone who purchased the smartphone.

Apparently, there was a meetup in New Delhi, India, where fans of the Honor brand got to meet the company's officials and ask questions about new and old devices. During the meetup, Honor confirmed that these two smartphones will certainly be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo at some point in the coming months.

We're also expecting Honor 8 and Honor 9 to receive the update, although we're waiting for the Chinese company to provide us with a timeline. Also, availability of the update is likely to depend on region, so some might receive the new Android 8.0 Oreo update much earlier than others.

That's mighty impressive for Honor 6X to receive Android Oreo update! It came pre-installed with Android Marshmallow, if my memory serves me right. Too bad, it's built like a 'heart of a woman' (Can easily break in half, in other words) and it's screen won't even withstand Level-2 scratches by keys and coins as demonstrated by the highly credible "JerryRigsEverything" Youtuber! Pathetic while at the same time quite impressive! Oh well, eh? G'Day!

Alright let's be honest here, I own the phone and for its amazing affordable price you get all those great specs in exchange of the built quality, and first of all lets talk about the bend test, are you seriously gonna bend you phone one day like that? only if you sit on it which I assure you that your butt cheeks will bend instead, so just a plastic case can protect it and nobody is using the screen without screen protection these days, you never know what might happen so just get the amazing phone and protect it with 2 simple affordable accessories that come within its box.
