HTC ThunderBolt and HTC Desire S to be updated to Android 4.0 by the end of this month
Owners of HTC manufactured handsets questioned the OEM about its Android 4.0 timeline for the remaining handsets that are scheduled to be updated. According to the Taiwan based handset maker, the HTC ThunderBolt and the HTC Desire S will both be updated before the end of this month. The HTC ThunderBolt was one of those models that was on the cusp, so this is obviously good news for its owners. Recently, HTC explained why some models, like the HTC Desire HD, will not be joining the Ice Cream Sandwich club even though it is very closely related to the T-Bolt.

Even if HTC is finished with all of the Android 4.0 updates by the end of the month, that doesn't mean that they will all be sent out precisely on the last day of August. There still is the matter of getting the carriers to sign off on the update for each specific model and in some situations, this has taken as long as months to get done.

Earlier this year, back in the merry, merry month of May, HTC had said it would have all of its eligible phones running Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of August. It was very close, but at this point it looks likeHTC will miss with that prediction.
