Google announces YouTube TV app for Android TV devices, coming soon to Apple TV

YouTube TV is a relatively new streaming service having been launched by Google back in April. Still, the service's coverage has been expanded to more than a dozen cities in the United States in the last couple of months, which proves Google is committed to bringing YouTube TV to as many consumers as possible.

In that regard, the search giant announced a new YouTube TV app is now available for the big screen. The application that was initially available for smartphone, tablet, and computer, will now be accessible to Android TV owners.

In the next few days, YouTube TV subscribers will be able to stream live TV through the new app on Android TV devices such as NVIDIA Shield and TVs with Android TV built-in, including Sony, as well as on the Xbox One family of devices (Xbox One, Xbox One S, and soon Xbox One X).

Also, for those who don't have any of the Android TV devices mentioned earlier, Google announced the new app will be available on Smart TVs, such as LG, Samsung, Sony, along with Apple TV, in the coming weeks.

The new YouTube TV app allows users to control the live TV experience with the TV's remote control all game controller. Also, the background of the app was made dark for a more cinematic look. Last but not least, Google added a new Live guide made for the big screen.
