Fix is coming to allow Windows 10 Mobile users to open PDF files on Edge
The mobile Edge browser is available for iOS, Android and Windows 10 Mobile as you might have suspected. There is plenty to like about the mobile version of the default browser found on Windows 10 PCs. Buttery smooth pinch-to-zoom and the ability to sync with Edge on your desktop or laptop have made the mobile version of Edge a favorite of many. But Windows 10 Mobile users have had a big issue with the app; it has stopped loading PDF files.

On the Microsoft Community forum, there are 14 pages of threads from Windows 10 Mobile users complaining about this bug. Apparently, the latest update to the platform was the catalyst that made this issue appear. But don't fret, Windows Mobile 10 users,  Microsoft does have your back.

In a response posted on the Community forum, Microsoft said that it is aware of mobile Edge's inability to load PDF files and adds that its developers are working hard to fix this problem."Rest assured that there will be an update in an upcoming release," says the software giant. And make no mistake about it, this is a very debilitating bug for many Windows 10 Mobile users.

You might want to follow a suggestion made by Microsoft and install a third-party PDF reader until the bug is exterminated. One Windows 10 Mobile user has a workaround that incorporates this idea:

  1. Install an external PDF reader, like Foxit, Adobe or any other.
  2. In Outlook, open your e-mail, and press and hold 2 seconds on the PDF attachment.
  3. Choose SAVE.
  4. Save the PDF e.g. in your Downloads folder (or Documents).
  5. Open the external PDF reader, and choose your PDF-file to open.
