First TAG Heuer smartwatch to be announced tomorrow, will compete with the Apple Watch
Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer is about to introduce a smartwatch that will compete with the Apple Watch. According to Reuters, the TAG Heuer smartwatch - of which we first heard back in January - should be announced tomorrow, on March 19. The device will be a digital version of the TAG Heuer Carrera, one of the company's best selling traditional timepieces.

Reportedly, TAG Heuer has partnered with Intel to work on the new smartwatch. It's not clear if this will run Android Wear, though it's very likely that this is TAG Heuer's first choice when it comes to the OS that's going to power the smartwatch.

TAG Heuer Chief Executive Office Jean-Claude Biver told Reuters that, when wearing the upcoming smartwatch, "people will have the impression that they are wearing a normal watch."

There is no word on when, or for what price the TAG Heuer smartwatch will be released. However, TAG Heuer should hurry if it wants its smartwatch to compete with the Apple Watch, as this will be launched on April 24 (with pre-orders opening on April 10).

This is something to look at.

I think this one will take precedence over apples edition watch maybe also the silver stainless steel one also depending on the price and if it is true that Google's new update coming later in the next few months will push the Android web app and usability to iOS as well as Android maybe even windows

This will be comp for the edition, but the stainless doesn't cost $5000. This is one of the companies that Apple was going after with the edition. Regular folks need not apply.

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing an ugly looking Apple watch. I would certainly would love to have a Tag smartwatch running Android wear.

Nothing can compete with Apple Watch.

...in design? Even Sony Smartwatch 1 from 2012 can compete with Apple Watch. :-)) And from a technological aspect, hmm... Let me see... -Shortest battery life -Inability to stay permanently on, like a normal watch or any Android Wear watch -Inability to download new watchfaces -3-4 times more expensive than an equivalent LG G Watch R in the stainless steel/leather band version. And it doesn't even look as good. Usually Apple products are somewhere around the top of their equivalent segments, but this is definitely not.

Let us wait and see which Watch will sell more. For me this is the criteria.

The Corolla sells more than an LS460. The Apple Watch will be the Toyota of the smartwatch world.

Are you serious? Apple Watch is more expensive than all the other smartwatchs so if it will sell more than the others then it will be LS460 in price and Corolla in selling. Apple is always the winner.

Do you robots have any idea what a Tag cost? Lol! This will not be a $250 watch. It will compete directly with the Apple watch edition. This watch will be $5000 at the minimum. I advise Yall to take a stroll thru their website. I already know this. Clearly most of you don't!

If I was crazy enough to spend 17,000 on a smartwatch, Tag, Rolex, Omegas are brands I would go for, not some luxury wannabe with a big fruit logo on the back! lol!

Frederique Constant has also come out with a watch that is part mechanical, part smart, with the typical fit and finish of fine Swiss watchmakers, that looks like what a grown up would elegantly wear: smartwatch{dot}frederique-constant{dot}com
