First Samsung handset with bada to debut in March/April?
According to a Samsung official who should know, the Korean based company will soon be launching its first bada powered handset.Shin Jon-Kyun is Samsung's President of handsets and he told the Korean Times that a phone with Samsung's new bada OS would be released globally in late March or early April. If you're a stickler for details, the actual quote was, :“Currently, bada does not have a prominent presence in the market. Butwe plan to launch our first bada phone in late March or early Aprilglobally… we seek to make a big success with bada.” The OS will have TouchWiz, support multitouch display and be built for touchscreen models only-at least at first. As a new OS for the low to mid range price level, you can expect bada to go up against Symbian in the sector, As we just reported the other day, Symbian has become an open source platform. As for bada, Samsung has some lofty goals. As Jon-Kyun says, "The portion of Bada devices will rise significantly this year."
