Deal: buy a Google Pixel or Pixel XL get a free Chromecast 2 and $100 gift card

Google certainly made a splash with the announcement of the Pixel and Pixel XL just over 24 hours ago. After a seemingly endless wave of rumors -- most of which proved fairly accurate in the end -- the two new flagships will look to test Apple and Samsung's resolve in the premium handset market. If you're considering the purchase but haven't yet placed your pre-order, Best Buy has a tempting offer on the table that may help you arrive at a decision.

The retailer is offering a $100 gift card along with a Chromecast 2 when you pre-order either of the two Pixel models. The Chromecast 2 isn't the top-end 4K Ultra model but nevertheless, isn't too bad of a package if you're looking to invest in Google's wider ecosystem.

We should point out, of course, that your Best Buy Google Pixel or Pixel XL will be locked to Verizon, which is a bit of a bummer if you're not looking to deal with Big Red. Google's Nexus line wasn't generally sold through carriers upon launch, so in a sense this branching out is a good thing. A little more variety and less exclusivity, however, wouldn't have gone amiss.

Still, there's always the unlocked route, which we certainly recommend you take if financially viable. Aside from the lack of carrier constraints and typical bloatware, you'll be certain of getting Google's Android updates as and when they're rolled out to the masses.

If you are happy to roll with Verizon, though, you can find out more at the source.
