Affordable Casio Pro Trek PRT-B50 watch with smartphone connectivity revealed
Casio announced a brand new line of watches aimed at outdoor enthusiasts who can't afford its expensive Pro Trek smartwatches. The new line is dubbed PRT-B50 and brings the latest technology like accelerometer and smartphone connectivity to the mid-tier market.

Three new PRT-B50 series models have been revealed this week, all featuring Smartphone Link functionality via the Pro Trek Connected app and quad sensor technology. These watches have three sensors that detect compass bearing, barometric pressure/altitude, and temperature, plus an accelerometer for counting steps.

Also, each model uses Bluetooth to offer Smartphone Link functionality, a feature that allows the watches to connect to the Pro Trek Connected app and other outdoor specific features such as Route Log, Calories burned, Location indicator, Customizable mode/display, Automatic altitude adjustment, Automatic time adjustment, and Mobile phone finder.

All Casio PRT-B50 watches feature world time (39 cities + UTC), water-resistance up to 100 meters, a full auto LED light, second stopwatch, countdown timer, full auto-calendar and more.

They boast a wide watch face that packs a large, rotating bezel and Arabic numeral indices. The new models have been designed with a 3D textured urethane band a and a strap keeper to keep the watch in place.

According to Casio, all three PRT-B50 watches will be available this fall for $200 at select retailers nationwide. They will come in three different colors: black, blue, and orange.
