Butterfly, flutterby: HTC Butterfly S gets KitKat-ified with Android 4.4.2
HTC's Butterfly S is currently receiving Android 4.4.2 KitKat over-the-air. A software update, dubbed 3.06.708.3, is bringing all the bells and whistles of the latest version of Android to the device as we speak. The device, which is actually newer than HTC's current flagship smartphone - the HTC One, got updated with Android 4.3 roughly 3 months ago.

The changelog of the massive 737 MB KitKat update is not very descriptive, however, it becomes clear that the HTC Butterfly S receives support for Google's Cloud Print service, as well as some additional Bluetooth media profiles. In addition, the web browser support for Adobe Flash Player is no more. It also seems that the KitKat update brings some security enhancements to the Butterfly S.

Of course, all other Android 4.4.2 perks are on board, too – HTC Butterfly S users will benefit from the many performance and visual improvements that KitKat has in tow.

The KitKat update for the Butterfly S starts rolling out today, but be advised that you may not get it right away.
