BlackBerry Beta Zone lays claim to a new update that brings Facebook for BlackBerry to version 3.1

Since BlackBerry World is happening right now, it’s naturally to see a few of the popular apps for the mobile platform getting some new software updates. With that in mind, Facebook for BlackBerry is simply one of those apps that are getting a new makeover courtesy of BlackBerry Beta Zone.

Actually, version 3.1 of Facebook for BlackBerry is now available for download through the BlackBerry Beta Zone – therefore, you’ll need to be a member in order to grab it. Visually, the presentation appears to remain the same, but it does pack some additional functionality to keep things within the app, as opposed to running the browser to get the full Facebook experience.

For starters, version 3.1 now offers the ability to liking comments. Specifically, the highly anticipated feature allows users to like/unlike comments from within the comment screen. Additionally, you’re now able to see which Facebook users actually “liked” a post. Besides that, there is also a new Group Support feature that allows you to view and interact with your Facebook Groups – meaning, you can comment and like posts that are on the Group Wall.
