Best Buy teams with Santa, offers $50 discount on all iPhone 5 versions

Best Buy is spreading the holiday cheer to Apple fans this year with one of the most generous discounts on the newest Apple iPhone we can think of this side of gift cards and marketing promotions.

The iPhone 5 for AT&T, Verizon and Sprint saw its price slashed $50 over the weekend, and now costs $149.99 with the obligatory 2-year plan. Best Buy is not having it easy these days, but the new management is trying to turn the ship around, and a big discount on the newest Apple handset is certain to attract attention.

The AT&T units will have to be picked up in store, whereas the Verizon iPhones can be shipped to your doorsteps, but that's about it with the deal. The 32 GB model is $249.99, whereas the iPhone 4 stays free with a contract. And, no, you can't combine the offer with the $25 gift card promo that was unleashed just recently. Oh, if you want to buy the thing off-contract, Best Buy will charge you $50 above Apple's price, go figure.
