Asus ZenFone 4 Pro starts getting Android 8.0 Oreo update
Asus continues to update its ZenFone 3 and 4 smartphones, which it said it would bring to Android 8.0 Oreo by the second half of the year. The latest addition to the list of smartphones with Android Oreo is the ZenFone 4 Pro, Asus' flagship from last year.

The ZenFone 4 Pro (model ZS551KL) is eligible for the update starting today, but it might take several days until it reaches all units. Aside from Android Oreo's new features, Asus included some of its own, such as a “long screenshot” function, a more friendly setting UI design, as well as a fully redesigned emoji set.

Also, the official changelog mentions the update should improve power consumption and replaces the Cast function with PlayTo. The launcher has some important changes after the update too, such as the ability to swipe up to all apps.

We have yet to learn which security patch the update includes, but Asus says many more improvements will be delivered in the update besides the ones mentioned in the changelog.

Expect the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro to arrive FOTA, but if you don't receive any update prompt, try heading to Setting / About / System update and hope it's available.
