Apple moves 9 places to become the world's 8th most valuable brand, Nokia slides to 14th
Apple's brand awareness has been growing along with its bank account ever since the iPhone got introduced in 2007, and still makes more profits for the company than all its other ventures.

In the annual brand value ratings, Apple hopped the astonishing 9 places, and finished 8th, behind staple industry stalwarts like McDonalds or Coca Cola, and ahead of even Disney, which follows immediately after.

Out of the tech companies, Apple, with its current $33.5 billion in brand value, is preceded by IBM, Microsoft, Google and Intel, but it has moved before an industry behemoth like HP.

Nokia, on the other hand, saw its brand value slipping significantly in the year when it announced the boldest reorganization in its history around Microsoft's Windows Phone. Currently the title Nokia is valued at $25.07 billion, which ranks it 14th, a six spot slide in comparison with the previous year.

Egg McMuffins are delicious...

32. hepresearch unregistered

Oh, I know... I feasted upon the Egg McMuffins in my youth, and now, as a result of my lack of self-control many years ago, I am suffering through an Egg McMuffin famine for the remainder of my life. They taste so good, but they will kill you. Death by food... I can't really think of a way to transfer that thought to the iPhone... oh well. Oh, well, maybe I do... I exercised self control for many years and avoided the iPhone like the plague... so maybe I will be the last person to adopt the iPhone when there is nothing else left to choose from, and I will be the last person that Siri turns against... "Siri, open the pod-bay doors!" "Sorry, hepresearch. I can not do that..." Alright, I am not making sense any more. I've been checked for cancer in all sorts of places these last six months, so maybe it is finally time to check for tumors in my brain...

yes, because the most important thing as a consumer is KNOWING that you are paying more than the item is worth to make a billionaire.. richer. you sure are a smart one gallito. :)

I pay for what is worth.. if I dont like what I buy.. I can sell it and not lose money.. so in reality I dont lose... unlike you that have to keep that android phone for 2 long years.. for not being smart.. I think I do pretty good...

are YOU STILL using that stupid and WRONG iphone value crap? dude, i busted you on that not 2 days ago. GO LOOK ON EBAY. The nearly year old galaxyS2 has a higher resale value than both the i4 and the new i4S. get a clue. and you also still comparing carrier subsidized 2 year pricing with non subsidized pricing. your not making any money and ur sure as heck not breaking even. You PAY for that phone in the length of the contract + extra. Why do you think there is such a discrepancy between prepaid and contract? Its not just the extra services you get with contract, because honestly its not that much more.. its the cost of the subsidized phone buried into the contract. It generally takes about 20 months to pay back the subsidy and the carrier pockets the last 4 months.. so you are paying for that phone + interest... if you keep it or not And if your dumb enough to buy an iphone on contract and then sell it on the side markets and buy something else, you are paying for that iphone + a new phone.. you are LOSING money. The longer you hold that iphone the dumber you seem to get. I remember you at least making some sort of sense at one point.

how you ever eaten a hot dog at a stadiummm expensive.. huh... do you think is worth what they charge?... so your argument about me overpaying for a product.. unless you are not a consumer... you over paid for stuff... next...

21. remixfa

Posts: 14605; Member since: Dec 19, 2008

no, its absolutely NOT worth what they charge. but do u know why they can charge it? because they shut out all competition. only stadium approved brands at stadium approved pricing is allowed there. Sound familiar? That is the EXACT REASON why Apple tries to sue competitors out of existence instead of making licencing deals like everyone else in the industry. The more competition that surrounds them, the more value orientated they must become or they will suffer. And they have suffered. While they maintain huge industry profits, their market position in the world has barely changed in over a year and is on the verge of its first shrink if WP7 takes off. WP7 is going to cut more from apple users who want an easy to use smartphone, more than android users. Most of apple's sales are to existing customers with only a small % coming from new customers... so if they lose those upgrades to people trying new OS's, they are in serious trouble. GET A CLUE . :)

so you never overpaid for anything?.. wow.. I gues your Sonata was paid cash right?... you went into detail on the hotdogs at the stadium.. the thing is that they are overpriced and thousands of people buy them.. gas prices... we all paid for overpriced stuff.. so dont understand your original comment for me overpaying for a phone... get the geek out of you so we can debate nicely....

my sonata was haggled down from 19500 to 12,000 3 weeks after the model launched for the year (and consequently 3 weeks of haggling) with all the options i wanted and with 5 miles on the car (3 from my test drive). Its also being paid of a year early to save on interest payments which were low because I keep my credit nice and pretty. The car before that was a 2 year old Xterra that I haggled down to 13000 with only 35k miles on it and..again.. every option i wanted. Saved about 8000 off of what they wanted for it. No, I rarely buy something when its brand new unless its a great buy to begin with. I find what i want and wait for the inevitable sale. Why would I want to over pay if i dont have to? It doesnt help me, and thats where my caring ends. I dont understand why you cheer on a company for insane profit margins, when all it really means is they are gouging you for more than the item is worth and you are just smiling as they do it.

yea, you linked me to a page of $0.01 items.. good job. We just had this conversation 2 days ago, and i linked you every phone, the i4, the i4s, and the SGS2. The most expensive average price was on the SGS2. not my fault u cant read.

34. gallitoking

Posts: 4721; Member since: May 17, 2011

if you see 0.1 cents phones then is your android phone... because my laptop shows the SGSII at 380.00 but anyhow is not a secret that android phones dont sale well.. and you can bring unknown links... all you want... dude.. bottom line is that why paid for an overpriced Android when a new one pops out in a week... when it comes to buying you are a fool... just because the tags says retail price is 36.00 and you paid 7.00 doent mean you beat the system... well luck buying you gallon of milk at walmart..

proving again that you are completely mental. Ok, just for you.. and just this once, im going to repost these magic thing we call "links" to ebay. SGS2 i9100 16 gig black USED average price = $449.99 http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-i9100-16GB-Noble-black-Unlocked-Smartphone-International-version-/102709718?_dmpt=Cell_Phones&_pcategid=9355&_pcatid=801&_refkw=used+galaxy+S2&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5909&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 i4s 16 gig black USED average price = $420.99http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Apple-iPhone-4S-Latest-Model-16GB-White-AT-T-Smartphone-/109348370?_dmpt=Cell_Phones&_pcategid=9355&_pcatid=801&_refkw=used+iphone+4&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5909&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 i4 16 gig black USED average price = $274.99http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Apple-iPhone-4-16GB-Black-AT-T-Smartphone-/99998176?_dmpt=Cell_Phones&_pcategid=9355&_pcatid=801&_refkw=used+iphone+4&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5909&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 galaxy nexus 16gig black used $475http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Google-Galaxy-Nexus-16GB-Black-Unlocked-Smartphone-/120844240985?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item1c22e0c859#ht_500wt_1105 now, unless they changed the rules of math, i'd say that the galaxy nexus has the highest resale value. And just for giggles, the sgs2 and the i4s 16gig have the same full retail new and on contract pricing. Also the SGS2 was released 6 months or more before the i4s, which means not only is it worth more, its holding its value longer. YOUR ARGUMENTS HAVE NO MERRITT.
