Apple introduces "Great apps for the new iPad" section on iTunes
It’s mere hours until Apple Stores start selling the new iPad at 8:00am today and Apple has used the opportunity just before the iPad launch to highlight one of its biggest advantages - the Retina display. With a stunning resolution of 2048x1536 pixels or a total of more than 3.1 million total pixels, the iPad just begs for apps optimized for the luxury of the high-res display.
Apple has now introduced a new category on iTunes for that reason. “Great apps for the new iPad” shows 24 applications optimized and resubmitted to the App Store. This shows serious commitment by those developers that only had two weeks to since the new iOS kit was released.
The optimized applications include Tweetbot, NYTimes for iPad, Evernote and Infinity Blade 2, so you have a good reason to hit the App Store after reading this.
