After conquering Wal-Mart, the 16GB iPad will be available at some TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores for just $399.99, presumably in limited quantities, and while supplies last. It could be that the bargain chain is subsidizing the $100 off to get people in stores, as we can't imagine Apple giving them a special discount on a hot commodity like the iPad.
Or, maybe, just as you go there for quality last season's fashion at rock-bottom prices, you can get yourself some first-gen iPad before the rumored 7-incher hits retail, it's all good. No advertising on this deal, so call your local bargain-basement store to check it out.
