Action Launcher 3 update adds a slew of new features, lots of improvements
Arguably the most popular launcher for Android devices, Action Launcher 3 has just received the last major update for 2016. The December update comes with an unusually high number of improvements and some important new features.

According to developer Chris Lacy, this particular update is meant to address complaints coming from Android users who did not use Action Launcher 3 because it doesn't support “traditional launcher features.”

So, one of the most commonly requested feature from those who would have loved to use the launcher if it did included one of those features is unread badge support. Now this feature is available for some of Android's main apps like SMS, Phone, Calendar and Gmail.

The unread badge support is a new feature that displays the number of unread SMS messages, missed calls, unread Gmail/Inbox messages and upcoming calendar appointments.

Also, the update brings scrollable docks, another highly requested feature. In case you've never used Action Launcher 3, it's worth mentioning that some features are hidden under a pay wall, which means you'll have to pay for them.

Well, the latest update makes one of these premium features, the iconic Quickpage, a fully featured home screen panel that slides in from the right screen edge, is now available for free to everyone.

The December 2016 update adds a new option to use Android's new round icons. Keep in mind that this feature will not work for “white plates” style icons.

The latest version of Actions Launcher 3 comes with a lot more new features and improvements, so make sure you check out the full changelog at the link below.
