5.5-inch Xiaomi Mi MIX Nano is not real says Xiaomi's marketing director
Earlier today, we showed you another picture that allegedly displayed the mini version of the Xiaomi Mi MIX known as the Mi MIX Nano. Along with the picture came word that the 5.5-inch version of the handset would be released early next month. As exciting as it would be to pick up a version of the 6.4-inch Mi MIX that would fit better in the hand, Xiaomi marketing director Zang Zhiyuan says that such a product does not exist.

Zhiyuan took to his weibo account to post that "There’s no such product as Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano, there’s a brand using 'low level trick' to do sales." It sounds like a competitor is looking to hijack the publicity that Xiaomi has garnered from the head turning Mi MIX to sell its own device.

For most people, a smartphone with a 6.4-inch screen seems too big to comfortably carry and use. That is why there was genuine interest in a smaller (albeit still nicely sized) 5.5-inch version of the Mi MIX. If Zhiyuan is right, and there is no Mi MIX mini being prepped, the only choice buyers will have is to decide between a black or white hued unit. Unless. of course, the images we've seen of the white Mi MIX are also bogus.
