Motorola Razr 2 release date, price, features and news

Motorola Razr (2019) was announced in November of 2019 and started selling in February of 2020, and it looked great and fashionable, while at the same time induced quite a bit of nostalgia over the original Razr. However, it failed to deliver on the hardware department and received some critique on its performance in comparison to Samsung’s own clamshell foldable device, the Galaxy Z Flip. Now, there are indications that Motorola is going to offer us a second iteration of the gorgeous-looking Moto Razr smartphone and reportedly, it will bring us some pretty exciting upgrades to the phone’s internals.

Motorola Razr 2 Price

Last year’s Moto Razr’s price was $1,499, which some considered quite expensive given its specs that were not up to par with the competitors in this price range on the smartphone market. Rumor has it that the new Moto Razr 2 will have 5G connectivity and a similar to last year’s Razr, foldable design, so it’s quite possible that the pricing will remain high; however, there is no official information on this yet. Some speculate that Motorola will try to keep the prices slightly lower on this one.

Motorola Razr 2 Design

It’s quite possible the design of the foldable smartphone is going to remain very similar to the Moto Razr of 2019 and rumors suggest its improvements over last year’s Razr are mostly going to be specs improvements. However, we still do not have any concrete information on the design.

Motorola Razr 2 Display

The current Motorola Razr (2019) features a 6.2-inch OLED display made of a plastic panel and a secondary 2.69-inch display on the outside. Rumor has it the Moto Razr 2's display will be bigger, at 6.7 inches, just like the Galaxy Z Flip's display size. Additionally, the Razr 2's second display will also be slightly bigger.

Motorola Razr 2 Camera

We are hearing rumors that an upgrade over last year’s Moto Razr will be coming in the camera department. Rumor has it that the main camera this time will be a Samsung-made 48MP sensor, while the front-facing camera will be upgraded to 20 MP over 5 MP on last year’s Moto Razr.

Motorola Razr 2 Battery and Hardware

The most noticeable improvements are in this departement. Rumors suggest that the battery of the Moto Razr 2 will be upgraded to a 2,845mAh one, while, in comparison, the Moto Razr from 2019 was 2,510mAh.

In terms of the processor, the Moto Razr 2 is likely going to be released with Qualcomm’s midrange SoC, the Snapdragon 765, which also has an integrated modem for 5G connectivity. Rumor has it that the Moto Razr 2 will come with 8 gigs of RAM, which is quite up to par with other Android devices from 2020. The internal storage for the Moto Razr 2 is expected to be at 256 GB and not expandable.
