tri- band??
doesn't this mean that teh phone is capable of using SIM cards from different networks. well i tried them all and my phone only works for the one network and that sucks cause i want to be a member of another network and this now means i'll have to buy another phone. its so hard to change my ringtone and takes forever to compose a message. i also agree with the guy that spoke of the location of the space button, it should have been in the middle and not to the right. and the phone though nice looking is too easily damaged!
Pros
- its sleek n sexy
Cons
- the message composition takes too long.
- my phone only works for the network it was unlocked to and yet it says tri-band.

Not very good.
Worst thing about it is that it doesn't automatically save your sent messages. This is REALLY annoying. Everything on it is complicated, from sending a simple text message to setting the alarm or setting a birthday memo. Although the phone looks nice when you buy it, it gets tatty and worn looking very quickly. The back of mine has several scuff marks, even though it doesn't get much wear and tear. I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone.

sound settings?
i used to have the SGH-E250 and it had the options of making the message tone on vibrate without making the ringtone or alarm tone on vibrate too in the Sound Settings menu. On the SGH-700 i couldn't find this option, the only thing i could find was something called Phone Profiles in the Phone Settings, but that didnt help me either. Could someone help me because this message tone is really annoying me and keeps giving me a fright everytime=S..however besides this mesage tone thing..it is a gr8 phone

Cons (trying again)
Cons: (trying again) Another shocker was that it does not automatically save sent messages - and I just learned from reading on here that it does not save replies to received messages or forwards. This is noteable as I now know that if I want to reply to a message and have the option of saving it that I have to create a new message.
My old T-809 has a flip-camera lense which is really a cool tool - I used it often - the J-700 lense doesn't flip.
The T-809 is also made from a material that after 2 years never showed scarcely a sign of wear and tear.
It does not let you edit photos that have been transfered from the memory card to the 'downloaded' folder and won't let you transfer from 'downloaded' to 'my photos' and it is only from 'my photos' that you can edit images. This is a bummer, because some of my images need to be rotated - when you take a picture in 'landscape' mode and flip it to 'portrait' then select to set it as wallpaper, the image fills up the whole screen vs. just a framed portion of the screen - which looks way cooler.

Anyone having trouble getting the battery cover off?
The battery/back cover of my phone won't slide off for nothing. This is seriously annoying. Anyone else encounter this?
Pros
- Outward features nice. Speaker and headphone volume and sound quality nice. I like that it offers a third option for deletions - delete selected, delete multiple or delete all. The T-809 didn't offer 'multiple' and in the beginning, until I learned the phone, I didn't know if when I selected 'all' I was going to just lose everything or what - then I learned that it lets you unselect specific items.

Quite disappointing
if you're to create message, there is an option to "save and send" but if you're replying or forwarding, your message will not be saved in the sent items... so bad!
it is very appealing from the outside, but it lacks some good features..i hope we can replace this with new ones once a new and enhanced version is made..
well, it is better than nothing.

Mediocre
Phone is so-so. Below my expectations. Got it two weeks ago on a pre-paid plan; I am not a fan of slide phones but aside from block phones that seems to be all there is on the market these days.
My major gripe - DOES NOT SAVE MESSAGES YOU SEND. Call me crazy but I would really expect this to be a standard feature of ANY phone. Have read through the whole user manual and there is no mention of saving sent message settings. It also saves some text messages you receive on the phone and some on the SIM card, seemingly randomly. REALLY something that needs to be looked into.
Another thing I dislike is the fact that there is very little customisation you can do with this phone, in terms of display settings. There are only two colours, black and white. For a phone that claims to be stylish, I consider this pretty below par.
Plus - the volume key on the side seems to be ineffectual. I would have expected it to at least light up the screen when the phone is closed so that you can check the time without opening the phone entirely. All I can see is that you can use it to change the volume of music - and only when the music screen itself is open. Try doing it on other screens, even the playlist screen - doesn't work.

Good ... but not great
Had the phone for 5 days ... birthday present from kids.
Great looking phone ... but mediocre features and difficult to configure. Documentation extremely poor. Does not save sent texts. Screen very difficult to view in bright daylight. Cant work out how to change ringtone.
LG was a lot easier to use than this.

I liked this phone, i do not want to complain but there should be some changing..1)the pin provided for charging and listening through wire,we have to pull the pin cover which becomes a problem to keep in the pocket. ..2)i did not find FM Recorder in SGH-J700...3)speaker sound is not enough for listening mp3 or fm...4)we cannot copy any pictures while using browser.
Otherwise it is a very successful set, only you have to reach information into the common public. It will be better to reach through colleges because students will like most.
Please neglect the spelling and grammer mistake. Thank you
