I was looking for a cell phone to replace my old LG-4015. I just wanted to talk and text message others, nothing fancy, not too expensive. And I wanted Java capabilities, in order to test and run my own apps. Well, a game or two also. So I don't care the camera is "only" VGA. I don't take high resolution photos with my phone. And I don't care the sound is less than 5.1 Dolby (way way less). I'm glad it takes pictures, video, and plays my MP3s. And it works as a phone!!! :)
If you're looking for a high-end full of bells-and-whistles phone, this is not for you. But you wouldn't ask that at a cheap price, right? I think this is the right choice if you don't want everything in the same device.
Besides, is compact, lightweight, easy to use, and the display is bright and clear (useful if you are not a kid anymore...).
The only thing I didn't like (but I see a pattern here) is the software that comes with the phone. Useless, buggy, I lost a couple of contacts trying to back up my SIM, and it doesn't even know what is a memory card (which you handle as a USB drive with your usual file manager).
All things considered, I´m very happy with my purchase.
is full uf stupid limitations; for example, you only can play files in mp3 player if they where manually putted in the playlist, only 4 avaliable playist with no more than 30 tracks capability each. internet navigation is equal as older phones, games upload from computer is almost impossible or at least very difficult, only hacking. the cable connector is extremely bad, and shared with monopolic earphones connection, no possibilitie to choose your favourite ones. battery is very poor. cables are always bad, nothing works as i would like. i only want to have one of those brick-phones now intead of "this"
Hey people there behind the pc screen! I'm just an average teenager who received my Samsung Slider just yesterday, and I've been craving to write a review, so here it is:
PROS: It's lightweight, stylish, practical and has good graphics. I like the lock feature that activates whenever I slide the phone close (although maybe some people will find it annoying). The screen goes black in 5 seconds in closed mode which is good because the battery lasts longer. You can even change the contrast to 1 to save battery life and the screen will still look awesome.
It's a music phone, so if you like music -like me- you can store all your songs on the 1-GB micro card and listen to them anytime, anywhere. You can also store images. It even comes with Bluetooth technology! AND you can take photos ;) Oh, I forgot to tell you that it comes with an FM radio :D
CONS: I was hoping I could store hundreds of self-created ringtones, but apparently if your phone memory is full, you can't use the songs on the micro SD card as ringtones. I was very, VERY disappointed by that. I was cheerfully transfering my ringtones (about 1 MB each[mp3]) to my phone memory then suddenly when I tried to transfer song #4, a message told me the memory was full.
If you -like me- think you will get disappointed too, I suggest you create ringtones that are bewteen 10-15 senconds each and lower the bit-rate to at least 96 bps. My ringtones' sizes were cut to 100-300 kb. Oh, and try midi ringtones too.
Another thing I didn't like was its sound quality. I can listen to a 124 kps song and sound like half its quality. However, using the headphones REALLY makes the music sound better.
The camera is helpful if, for instance, you see Brad Pitt walking down the road bodyguard-free (which, obviously, will never happen) and you want to take him a photo and then show everybody that you were within a 100-feet radius from him. It's not a high-end camera, but it's a camera, and if you get tired of your music, radio, etc., you just have to slide open your phone, press down and press ok twice- that's it!
CONCLUSION: This phone is certainly not the best, but if you're looking for a cheap phone/music player/video player/image browser/camera/FM radio/Java-game console/agenda (wow, it's now that I realize it HAS a lot of stuff
