Nice PDS Phone

I like this PDA phone. It could be better if they had installed WM6 on that or it had GPS reciever but honestly I don't care much about those issues. I have my own Bluetooth GPS Reciever and will use that one anyway.

Phone side of this device rocks. Signal strength is good and sound quality is better than what I thought. Size is amazing (it's not too bulky for me, however it's a personal taste).

Overal I give it a 4.5 star out of five. :) Good job, HTC

Excellent 9.2

Just the tip of the iceberg

This 'phone' exceed my wildest expectations. The physical design is very ergonomic, the weight is perfect, tactile feedback is solid, and the screen is beautiful. My only wish would have been for 24-bit colour.

The camera is decent, not great. The zoom is poor. Good lighting is essential to the capture of crisp images. The real saver is in its low-latency responsiveness. It requires a steady hand, but could be much worse. Many options on the software side also lend a degree of grace to the quality. Lighting options are very well done. Still, a decent zoom and stronger flash would have set it well above the realm of casual snaps.

Navigation:
There are no less than -four- methods of navigating the screen. Jogwheel, dpad, touchscreen, & keyboard [tab is right beside space].
Different circumstances merit different styles of interface. When on my bike, I cannot imagine being without the touchscreen. While web browsing, the jogwheel shines. The dpad is useful in both landscape and portrait. The keyboard is probably the best anyone could expect for such a tiny mobile device. Good feel, and once accustomed to the layout it becomes exceedingly easy to punch in URLs and draft letters.

As it turns out, this thing sports a dual-core processor. There is a 400MHz used for the OS and a 133MHz for radio operation. This means that bluetooth will not lag down your tasks, and background processes continue unimpeded during voice calls! Very nice touch.

The best phone out right now!

I've had this phone for a week I have been on the Mike Network, Rogers, and Bell so far and they are all shit. Until I got this phone which has profound service and not even one dropped call yet. The features are also out of this world and the phoen is the perfect way to mix my work world with my personal and keep them organized. I love it all hands up. the only thing that gets is the phone is a mini laptop so if you have too many programs open at once it will crash! Other than that the phone is superb. I would trade it for any riight now. Might even sell my PSP cause I am so impressed.

P4000 - 3 Days Later

Very ambitous device and generally well executed. The phone and it's integration with Contacts is very good. The sound quality is probably the best I have experienced.

I'm still struggling to find a Client Billing application for Mobile 5 that will replace my Palm-based favourite. Have tried 2 trial applications but neither will function.

So far i am disappointed with the WLAN capabilities - even though it easily finds the connections, it seems to prefer the EVDO or 1X link for Internet & mail access. The ability to diagnose the issue is very limited and HTC's website is useless for this device.

If I can get these issues resolved the P4000 will be a very sweet unit !

I've had this phone for one week now, and I'm very impressed so far. The wifi, bluetooth and evdo dial-up capabilities are fantastic, with power saving measures that can be taken to preserve battery life - which is also very good.
The photo/video capabilities are also above expectations.
The sliding keyboard works very well, but the integration of a touch screen with the keyboard still isn't perfected by any device. However: the saver on the P4000 is the dial with clicking ability. It allows you to navigate nearly every menu area while pushing in to select an option.

Very impressive.

One final thought - I do miss a regular headphone jack instead of the usb/stereo conversion. This would be useful for audio output without the need for specialized peripherals.
