iPatch mod soon to launch, lights up your fruit and doubles as a torch
Last September, a British company that repairs iDevices called iPatch, gave us a preview about a mod it had developed that allowed the Apple on back of the Apple iPhone to glow. Basically, it is just a way to show your solidarity as an Apple fan. While the price tag of $160 seemed a little high to some, everyone agreed that the effect was pretty cool. And while an expected October launch never materialized, the guys from iPatch are back again and this time they have made a little addition to their product. This is not to be confused with the $43 kit that was being sold on KOGadget's Facebook page that we told you about last year.

Now, besides lighting up that distinctive Apple logo, the mod will turn the headphone jack into a torch. Both the torch and the Apple will glow as brightly or as dimly as you want them to, led by the brightness control for the smartphone's display. And yeah, the price is still $160. While it hasn't been released yet and is still being tested, it should be out soon. They are even thinking about transparent ear buds which, when combined with the torch light coming from the headphone jack, would produce glow in the dark headphones. And since the jack still works, even when its a torch, it would not only look cool but would also be functional.  In the meantime, the guys at iPatch (are these guys Pirates of some sort?) continue their day job of repairing broken screens and jog wheels.

Ok, here goes the hard part. They should make it a projector! And be careful that Apple doesn't patent the glowing logo and release it on the iPhone5 (or the New iPhone). Would be very cool for my iPhone to have a projector

look like a douch+

step #1 iphone

step #2 Light up Iphone back.

step #3 you are instantly a douchbag.

I had an iphone 4... i was embarrased to use it, i did not want to be associated with the children or elderly that covet the iphone.

lol, Apple's gonna patent it, put it on a new iDevice, say it's revolutionary and kick these guys away...

the next time you go to a coffee shop.. check out the geriatrics's using iphones. Being a great revolutionary product is awesome, but being a product that is revolutionary to the elderly is roughly equivalent to making better dentures. Apple has committed to pandering to children and the elderly. That is why i detest apple and their elitist bull sh1t.

Phone arena... Learn your audience, and cater to them... abviously there are more Android users who visit this site, and yet they insist on posting a million iPhone posts a day. you can post like 1 iPhone a day... thats about right to the number of iPhone users who visit this site.

from that comment, it can be assumed u do not spend a lot of time on phone arena... first, they are not a website that caters to a specific os... so any diehard android fan could go to another site that has only android articles... second, the android fans on this site relish in bashing apple on apple articles.... there are way more posts from android fans on those than on any android article ever... and there are tons of android articles too-- its all news... if you want specific then go to a specific website

i was gonna leave it alone until you pulled the "woe is apple for being picked on" routine.

ios nutjubs are found on every android article and vice versa. The only reason it seems like there are more android people now is because the iOS nutjobs dont know how to play nice and keep getting themselves banned. Of course, they keep coming back under fake names, but hey it keeps it interesting.
When i first came to this site, it was like 10 to 1 in favor of iOS posts. Times changed because market positions changed. iOS only has 24% world market share, so the fact that it has about the same amount of posters is not a surprise. Only in america does iOS have a strong foothold... people forget that.

but this site is pretty american no?

and btw i was not picking woe on apple… i was trying to be as factual as possible… i didnt say anything about how apple shouldn't be bashed or anything… just that they are, which is quite true as you would know ;)

Exactly.
Cool idea, but it shouldn't have to be on all the time along with the screen brightness. There should be some extra modded controller.
